Grillin It Up!!!

The weather has been great here in Laramie. Last weekend we Matthew and Michael put our grill together that we got for our wedding together, and we have been grilling ever since. We have had a few parties. Last week we did Matthew's famous Mt. Dew marinaded steaks. Thursday we had a few of our friends over and grilled up brats, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Today we did shrimp and veggie kabobs. Our buddy Trey Morris came over and joined the kabob party. They were super tasty on the grill. We are also marinading some chicken in some balsamic vinegar lemon pepper for dinner. We are seriously loving our grill, its addicting. I sure hope we keep having this nice weather.

Interview # 2

Matthew had his second interview for the internship in Cheyenne with the State Vet today. He said it went really well. He wore his Russian suite and a fancy dancy tie to match it, and they even complimented on how he was dressed. The interview went great! They didn't expect him to know every answer to their questions, but to give his best answer and feelings on the issue. Matthew said it was a lot easier this time around, he had them laughing and he had a great time with them. He was running against a girl from CSU a 2nd year vet student, and he was the only undergrad that applied for the job. They really really liked Matthew because they said that they would get back to him on Monday, but they just called him and said that they would like to give him a job. I am so excited for Matthew, this is going to be a great opportunity for him. Its going to be awesome when he has as experience on his vet school applications that he worked with the Wyoming State Vet. Matthew works so hard at his school, and he deserves this job 100 percent. I also got a interview with the UW Early Child Education Center here in town for a job for the summer. The interview is on Monday so wish me luck!

The "Sweetness" of the Library

Matthew and I have a favorite restaurant here in Laramie. It the Library. They have the most amazing wings there. You can have hot, mild, honey BBQ, or sweet chili sauce. Our favorites are the honey BBQ and sweet chili sauce. I am pretty sure we go at least once a week, they are hard to resist. They seriously are that good. If anyone ever can't think of anything for dinner this a good place to go, or if you are driving to Laramie and need a good restaurant. Don't forget to call us if you go!

Internship

Yesterday Matthew had his interview for a internship with the State Vet in Cheyenne. Which would be an amazing job for him, and could look really good on his vet school applications. The job was for 1st year vet students, but was also open to senior pre vet students. Matthew was one of 4 people that interviewed for the job. He went in there not really knowing what they were going to ask in the interview, but he knew allot of the answers. Plus he was interviewed by about 5 different people in one room. Kind of scary if I say so myself. But I hope he can get the job because it would be a wonderful opportunity for him.

Easter Weekend

This weekend we were able to drive to McCook, Nebraska and visit Christian, Jill and the boys. We left around noon on Thursday after class, and Michael, Emily, Stetson, and Kandace left Friday morning. The drive there was kind of snowy, but we made it safely. They have tons of green grass in Nebraska which made me very jealous. Friday morning Matthew was able to go to work with Christian, I think that he really enjoyed that. Jill and I stayed at the house and hung out with the boys. Friday night we all went out to a way good BBQ restaurant. I got Cat fish, and Matthew got BBQ pork and ribs. It was very yummy. Then we came home and dyed eggs with the little boys. They had such a blast with it. The next morning we headed off to a Easter egg hunt. Stetson and Carson loved it, they both got tons of candy. The guys all went out and played Frisbee golf for a couple hours, while us girls hung out at the house and scrap booked and played wit the kids. Saturday night we watched Marley and Me, which I do recommend. It was very good, kind of emotional but I really loved it. I really want to buy it. Sunday we all went to church, they had Stake Conference broad casted to their little branch. It was great to hear our prophet talk again. We had a great time visiting Christian and Jill, we sure do wish they lived closer so we could hang out more. Thanks Jill for all the amazing food. We love and miss you guys all ready.

Vet School, Snow, General Conference, And More Snow!!!!!

Yesterday Matthew and I were able to go to CSU open house for the Veterinary school. As we drove on to campus my favorite part was that their grass was green and they had flowers planted. It really is a beautiful campus. We showed up and I think Matthew was 1 of the 3 guys that were there. Which is a good thing for him. He will apply for vet school this summer, and CSU is his top school he wants to go to. It is closer to home, and we both really like Fort Collins. A lady came in and talked about the small animal center at the vet school. I found it amazing how much and what people will do for their small animal pets. She said that they even do braces at the dentist area. We were able to have a tour of the 1st and 2nd year vet student areas. The 1st years get a cool little cubical that is theirs and they can study in it. Which will be great for Matthew. One other thing that I though was sweet was that they get to wear doctor jackets and name tags the whole time they are going to school. CSU is a great school and will for sure get Matthew prepared for the real job of being a Vet. Matthew's dream has always been to be a vet, and I support his dreams completely. We were going to spend the night in Fort Collins, but a big storm was coming in, so we did some shopping and headed home. We got back to Laramie and the snow followed us home. It snowed all night, and it has been snowing all day today. I think we have about 8 or 9 inches out there. This weekend is also General Conference weekend. I love conference we are able to hear such great talks from a of our general authorities, and our Prophet. We had Michael, Emily, Stetson & Kandace over for lunch. Matthew and I made pizza, it turned out really good and yummy. It has been a great weekend, Matthew and I have been able to spend lots of time together. I love it when we get weekends like this.
