And the Results Are.....

Its A Boy!!! We are super excited about having a boy. I knew it all along. Everything went very well at the doctors today. Everything with the baby is great. The little guy is growing so much. He measured 11 oz today. He is measuring about a week ahead of my due date, so he is healthy. We both really like the name Ian, so I think that name will stick. Well we are off to Wyoming for Christmas break. Wish you all safe travels and a Merry Christmas.

Is That Movement???

 Everyone keeps asking me if I had felt the baby move at all, and I didn't think that I had. I finally felt the baby moving this morning. It was the neatest thing to feel our baby moving. I feel so blessed to be able to be pregnant. It is the most wonderful thing to know that a little baby is growing inside of me, and in just a few more months I will be able to hold that baby. I have been feeling really good lately. I have not been sick at all for a while now. I just get pretty tired, and I am growing and growing. I am just a little over 18 weeks along. Excitement...

In just about a week we get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I can hardly wait. December 15th is my appointment. It will be the day before we leave for home again, so we will come with more exciting news for our family. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have felt like we are going have a boy. I have been calling our baby a him ever since day one. It will be fun to see if I am right or not.

Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Well my Christmas decorations have been up. I put them up the night before we left for Thanksgiving so that it would be all done when I got home. I absolutely love this time of year. I love the music, the treats, the shopping, and smells, the decorations, and the weather when its not too cold. We got another snow storm last night here in Pullman. It is starting to look a lot like Christmas here. I am also thankful for this time of year because of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so thankful that we are able to celebrate this time of year. I hope that we can all be loving and giving this Christmas season. Lets all try to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Thanksgiving Break.....

It was so nice to get out of Pullman for a while. We hadn't left since we moved here in August. We left Thursday morning around 4:30 am. We drove in snow most of the way until we hit Missoula, MT, and the sun finally decided to come out. Friday night was the viewing for my Grandpa Bullinger. I have never liked viewings, but for some reason I had a wonderful comfort from my Heavenly Father during this hard time. Saturday was the funeral. It really was a beautiful funeral. The flowers were beautiful and some were the services. All of us grand kids and our husbands sang "I Know My Redeemer Lives", and "I am a Child of God". The last musical was sang by all my grandpa's boys and Grandma Bullinger. The music was really wonderful. I once again am so thankful for my wonderful family and the closeness we have. I know that my grandpa is watching over us as well as our Heavenly Father. We will all be able to be with grandpa again someday.
Sunday we were able to go to church with both of our parents. That night we all went down to my grandma Bullinger's. She is such an amazing women, and I love her so much. Monday Matthew worked with a Vet in Greybull preg. testing cows over in Worland all day. My mom and I took a trip up to Cody. It was great to spend some alone time with my mom. We spent the night at my parents that night, and the next morning headed back to Lovell to help out Stan ( Matthew's dad) for the day.
Thanksgiving day seems to always be a rush for us because we try to see all of our family in one day. But it was a great day. We had dinner with the Asay's first, then headed over to my parents to take family pictures. My aunt Mandy took them and I am excited to get them back. We hung out at the house for a while then headed back to Lovell to go to grandma Asay's where a bunch of Matthew's cousins , aunts, and uncles were for the holiday.
Friday I went to Billings with my family to the temple and shopping. My grandma Bullinger came with us to the temple. It was a wonderful experience to go through a session with her. She had lots to teach me about the importance of the temple. I was also able to get some maternity clothes. Yay for clothes that fit.
Matthew spent the whole day preg. testing his dad's cows with his uncle Clark who is a Vet in Utah. Matthew had a great break working cows most the time which is one of his favorite things to do. As well as help his dad out lots.We were able to hang out with our friends Richard and Katie, and Trevor and Andrea. We miss you guys like crazy. It was great to spend time with you all.
We had a wonderful break and made it back to Pullman safely last night. We came home to about 8 inches of snow on the ground. I wasn't too excited about that. We only have a few weeks left till we get to head back home for Christmas break. Also on the 15th we get to find out if we are having a girl or a boy. We are excited to find out.

16 weeks Pregnant

Our Little Surprise

We can finally tell you all about our exciting news. We are pregnant. I am almost 16 weeks now, and feeling great. We waited so long to tell you everyone because we wanted to be able to tell our parents in person when we got home from Thanksgiving. It was so much fun telling everyone in our family. They are all excited for us. Our baby will be my parents first grand-baby, and Matthew's parent's 5th. Everyone just can't wait till the baby gets here. We are super excited about becoming parents though, and can't wait. Everything has gone really well so far with my pregnancy. The morning sickness didn't hit me till about 5 or 6 weeks. I still have some days that I feel sick, but it is so much better than it was. The baby is due May 11th.

One Amazing Guy..

Last night a person very dear to us lost his battle to Colon Cancer. My Grandpa Bullinger was a very special guy to us. We will miss him so much, but are happy he did not suffer long. Matthew and I have not seen him since we left Wyoming in August. When we left he had finished his first round of chemo treatment, and was feeling great. I am thankful that I never had to see him suffer and be in pain much through his battle.  I am so thankful for him and the influence he has been in my life. I have always been very close to him, and he has always been there for me. Matthew has been close to him and my Grandma as well over the past few years he has known them.This is a hard loss for both of us. I am  thankful for my wonderful family and for the closeness we have. I am also  thankful for the plan of salvation our Heavenly Father has created for us, so that we can enjoy our families and someday be with them again. I have so many wonderful memories with my Grandpa, and I am so thankful his beautiful testimony of the gospel that I have grown from . We love him so much, and will miss him dearly.

WSU Cougars

Last week the Vet school was giving away football tickets, and Matthew won two of them. We were able to go to the Football game. It was actually not a bad game, and they didn't get creamed. I took a few pictures, but forgot to get one of us two at the game. Before the game Matthew came home with a surprise of a Vet Med WSU sweatshirt for me though. He is the best at surprising me with little gifts all the time. I love him. We are so excited to come home in a week. We have been counting the days down. We miss our family lots, and can't wait to see them.

Halloween 2010

We have had a fun Halloween weekend. We started it off on Friday having a few of our friends over for yummy corn chowder for dinner. Then Saturday morning I got up and went to Lewiston with some friends. Some of the girls were running a 4.5 mile race and then Kelli and I walked the 2 mile walk. We all did great. We all had matching shirts as well which we made at sewing group. Here is a picture of us all:

Yesterday night was our ward Halloween party. I dressed up as a devil and Matthew was a Wyoming Cowboy fan. They had lots of party food, games for all the little kids and a little trick or treating in the church for the kids as well. Then to end the party they did a pie eating contest. Matthew had signed his friend Craig up to do it last Sunday. Then my friend Laurel and I decided to do it as well. It's harder then it looks to eat a chocolate pudding pie when chocolate pudding is not your favorite. I did pretty good for my first pie eating contest. We had a great Halloween weekend, and enjoyed hanging out with our friends. Hope you all had a great and festive Halloween.

Fall/ Winter weather is here

I am sorry to say that it is finally started to stay cold I think here in Pullman. We had to move our walking group inside. This isn't quite as good of a work out as I was getting walking up hill both ways but its better than nothing. It has been very windy and rainy here, and with it only being 35- 40 degrees. Burr, but it sure beats windy and snowy Laramie. Although I do have to say I miss our Laramie days.
Yesterday Matthew got the opportunity to go along on a ultra sound trip to a dairy in Tricities. He really enjoyed it and learned lots. Matthew has two big test this week, so I am anxious to see how he did. ( I am sure he did well). Halloween is coming up this weekend, and we have a big ward party to go to. I think we are both going to dress up, so await for pictures. School is going great for me, and is still pretty busy.

Sunday night after I got back from a Stake Relief Society meeting I found Matthew cleaning up around the house. I really appreciate his help. We then decided to read our Patriarchal Blessings to each other. It had been a while, so it was much needed. I am so thankful for the blessings that we have been promised if we obey our Heavenly Father's commandment. Also I am so thankful for the blessings I have received for following the counsel given to me in my blessing, and the blessing we have received because we both have. What a wonderful gospel we have. We hope all is well with our friends and family where ever they may be.

Chefs For The night..

Last night I had a enrichment activity which was super fun, and I scored a yummy spinach artichoke dip out of it all. Matthew and Phillip one of our friends that is in Matthew's class have been wanting to make Borscht a Russian soup that is so good. Both Matthew and Phillip  served their missions in Russia, so they share the love for this soup. Phillip is in charge of making the meal for a dinner he goes to once a week in Albion where he lives ( just about 10 or 15 minutes from Pullman), and Matthew helped him out on it. It was so great to come home and have the house smelling like yummy Borscht.They made enough so that we could have a bowl last night, as well as I getting some for lunch today. Oh and a special thanks goes out to my friend Laurel for coloring my hair yesterday. I love it .

 After eating I snuggled up in a blanket on the couch. Its been getting colder at nights , so Matthew was taking pictures of me all snuggled up and warm.

What's up in the Asay Family.....

We are enjoying life here in Pullman. The weather has cooled down here, and it's feeling more like Fall time. It has been pretty rainy lately though. Which isn't bad, I prefer rain over snow most the time. Unless it's Christmas time, and you gotta have snow then.
Matthew has been working super hard on school. He got his first Anatomy test back about a week ago. He had been studying for weeks for this test, and he did awesome on it. I was so proud of him. He has also done very well on all the other tests and quizzes he has taken so far this semester. I knew he would though. I am working hard at school as well, and keeping quite busy with a full load of online classes.
We really enjoyed General Conference last weekend. It seems like conference always comes at just the right time when we all need guidance. We also had Stake Conference this weekend which was our first here in Pullman. Our stake is just a student stake of both married and single students. We actually have a pretty big stake. We both really enjoyed the speakers at conference this weekend as well. The theme lately has been temples and eternal families. What a blessing it is to have eternal families. I feel very blessed that I will someday be with my whole family. Also what a blessing as a LDS member to have this knowledge.
I am still enjoying going on the three mile walks everyday with the ward walking group. It's is always a great start to my day. I also go to the ward sewing group one night a week. I never really sew, but it's is great to hang out with the girls once a week. This weekend we also enjoyed a trip up to Spring Creek just as little ways past Troy, ID( which isn't far from Pullman) with some friends. They cooked up some yummy dutch oven potatoes, carrots, and pork. It was fun to get together with them and get to know them better. We hope that all is well with all our family and friends in Wyoming and where ever else you may be. We are excited to come home for Thanksgiving for a while . We really like Washington, but it will never beat our home in Wyoming.

Bear Attack...

Its been a week or two but I have to share this story with you all. Just down the road a ways from our house WSU has about 6 or 7 bears in cages that they are doing some studies on. We were getting our new carpet at the time, and so I was hanging out at my friend Marie's house for a few hours. We had decided to go for a drive to take her little girl to see the bears before our husbands got home from school. We got there and there seemed to be lots of workers standing outside around the cages. We just thought it was feeding time. Marie told her little girl " look the bears are eating". Well we could kind of tell something was up. I noticed that what ever the bears were eating in their looked very furry. We walked down a ways to look at some more bears. Then a cop drives up, so we decided we better leave because there must really be something up. On the way back I told Marie "I really think those bears were eating one of the other bears." We both laughed and Marie said " No way they don't eat each other, that's crazy." The next day Matthew and my friend Laurel told me they read an article about the bears killing another bear and were eating it. I was totally right. I had guessed it was bear the other bears were eating.

I hope they call me on a mission..

Today we got a call from Matthew's little brother Jared letting us know where he was going on his mission. Since he sent his papers in he has thought he would go somewhere in Africa. Well guess what he was right. He is going to serve in the Zimbabwe, Harare mission. We are super excited for Jared. We are especially glad he doesn't leave until February, so that we can spend lots of time during Thanksgiving and Christmas with him. Love ya Jared and we are very proud of you.

How Crazy is this???

Yes, that is a Camel picture you are looking at. Matthew gets to go down to the Vet hospital as much as he wants to check things out. Well today they had a big ol Camel down there waiting to be cut. I thought it was crazy when I got a text today with that picture from Matthew. So I thought I would share it with you all.

Matthew and I are doing great here in Washington. We like it quite a bit. We love our apartment, the nice weather, our friends, our new ward, how much cheaper it is to buy groceries at Winco, and we love each other. I love no matter where you go in the world the Church will always be true. Also it is great to know that no matter where you go you will always make new friends. Matthew is working super hard in school. He has an Anatomy test coming up soon, so he has been studying like crazy.He sure is loving Vet school. It is crazy how fast this past 4 weeks has gone. Before we know it he will be done with his first semester. I am still at home taking all my online classes. They keep me pretty busy. I still have time to clean my house, cook lots, go on a three mile walk everyday with the walking group, and spend time with Matthew. I am so thankful for the opportunity to finish my degree online. That was a blessing to find out I could, and not have to pay out of state fees. Matthew and I both got callings in our new ward. I am the Relief Society Newsletter coordinator, and Matthew teaches elders quorum once a month. We are thankful for our new callings, and are excited about them.

Got Milk?

On Saturday Matthew was able to go with Dr. Hancock one of the vet teachers at the school to a huge dairy pass Tri-Cities. The dairy milked about 7,000 head of cows two or three times a day. Talk about huge. The only dairy I have ever been to is George's dairy in Cody, Wyoming, and theirs is not even close to the size of this one. Matthew was able to help with bleeding some calves, watch cows give birth, and do some necropsy. The drive to the dairy was about 3 hours from Pullman. I dropped him off at 6 in the morning and he didn't get back till 8:30 that night. He really enjoyed the trip, and the Dr. Hancock was impressed with his work.

Better Blogging....

The other day we had a conversation about some Ensign articles about blogging. I read through the articles and thought that it would be appropriate to post on my blog. It was a long article so I am just posting the parts I thought were the important ones. I hope you all find these article as informing as I did, mine can always use a little work.

A Strong Medium for Sharing Testimony

Members of the Church like Lisa, Neil, Kevin, Richard, and Sheryl are discovering the power of the Internet in sharing testimony and answering questions other people have about the Church. And in doing so they’re discovering that it’s not as difficult as they might imagine to respond to Elder Ballard’s challenge to “join the conversation by participating on the Internet to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the Restoration.”4

Of course, blogging is just one way to share the gospel; there are many others. Some may wonder how one Web site or one blog can make a difference, but as Elder Ballard reminds us, “While some conversations have audiences in the thousands or even millions, most are much, much smaller. But all conversations have an impact on those who participate in them. Perceptions of the Church are established one conversation at a time.”5

And just as it did for Derick Fitch, one conversation can make all the difference.
It is common for people to search for things online. Why not religion?
Some may wonder “What can I do?” But many Latter-day Saints are finding that simple conversations make a powerful difference.

Think before You Post

Search engines are the “conscience” of the Internet. They can call up almost any Web site from any period of time. So assume that what you post on your blog is permanent. The pictures of your children doing silly things as little kids may be funny or cute right now, but imagine those same pictures appearing when your children are 12 or 45. Carefully consider the pictures you post and the things you write.

Be Positive

“I have been surprised when … ward members or even old friends from high school read my blog,” says Kacy Faulconer, who writes personal and group blogs. Blogs should not be a “forum to complain or criticize people behind their backs,” she says. Instead, keep your comments positive. You never know who may be reading.
