ER visit

Last night Matthew and I were at some friends having dinner with them, and Matthew got a voicemail from my mom asking if we could go to the hospital and see my little sister Samantha. So, I checked my phone I had like 5 missed calls. I called my mom, and after that we were on our way. We had no idea what had happened or how Sam was doing. We said a little prayer before we started driving though. I was kind of freaking out, because almost 3 yrs ago Sam and I were in a terrible car accident and were hurt badly, so I was thinking the worse. We got to the ER and they hadn't got Sam to there yet. She was at a Institute activity swimming at the Rec Center. She had been swimming for a while, but she was going back and forth from the cold water to the hot tub. She started feeling light headed, and couldn't walk. And you have to know that when Sam gets scared and starts crying she starts to hyperventilate. She didn't hit her head or anything so that was good. Well anyways we were in the ER for three hours with her last night. They had her in a neck brace for a while because she was saying her neck was hurting. They took x-rays to make sure everything was okay. The doctor said that she was just very dehydrated from the hot water in the hot tub. And going from the hot tub to the cold water was making her body work too much. She is doing good, just very tired. Matthew and I brought her home to our house, and she is still sleeping. Poor girl. But thank goodness for all her good friends, and Institute leaders. Also thank goodness for the priesthood again. My sister Brandy's fiance Mark gave her a blessing that helped her so much. We are glad she okay and feeling better.

Visiting Family

This last weekend we were able to take a break from studying, and Laramie and head home for a few days. Matthew's parents needed his help with AI fifty of their heifers, so he got a chance to work on his Vet skills. I thought he did an awesome job. His wrist was bugging him a bit, but I think that it was good to get it moving some. We helped Matthew's family all Saturday, and had  a fish fry. Grandma Dorthy, and Michael & Emily and the kids was able to come down , so it was great to see them. I spent a lot of the afternoon throwing rocks into the canal with Stetson. He is such as funny kid. Saturday night we headed to my parents house and had dinner with them. Bethany and Jake took me out to see their new ducks. Today was the end of our fun trip. We went to 8 o'clock sacrament meeting with Matthew's family, and then headed to say good bye to mine. When we got back to Laramie, surprise surprise it was snowing. But we had a great trip, and we cant wait to spend the summer at home with family before we move to Washington.

Update

We are finally having spring time here in Laramie. It has been pretty nice in the 50's and 60's this last week. Today we have been getting the April showers. We have been working hard to finish up this semester. We have exactly 3 weeks left before we are done. I can hardly wait. I am still going to be taking classes this summer, but it won’t be near as crazy busy as I am this semester. Matthew has been visiting a few sheep ranches, and slaughter plants for his sheep production class. He has really been enjoying that class. He is still milking goats and driving bus when he has time. He will be graduating in May with his bachelor’s in Pre-Vet. We went and bought some Rubbermaid totes to start packing our stuff up for the move, but we haven't had time to fill them though. We figured if we put our stuff in totes we would be able to keep the mice out, and they would make it through two moves better than cardboard boxes. We will be moving out of our little apartment, and saying good bye to Laramie the 2nd week of May. We are going to be staying with Matthew's parents for a few months this summer. Then the end of July we will be moving up to Pullman, WA.

Last weekend my sister Samantha and I put on just a little bridal shower for my other sister Brandy. We just invited some of her close friends here in Laramie, and all went to Applebee’s for dessert, and present opening. My aunt Mandy was in town for her sister-in-laws wedding so she was able to attend which was a treat. I can't believe that Brandy is getting married already. But we are so happy for her and Mark.

The other night we attended the Rodney Adkins concert. He came to campus, and the tickets were only $7 so we had to go. He puts on a dang good concert. We really enjoyed it. Oh and guess what I cut all my long hair off. It was time for a change. I was so tired of taking so much time to fix it every morning. I love my new cut, and it’s so much easier to take care of

Easter 2010

This year for Easter, Daniel & Kasi came down to Laramie Thursday night and spent the night. Then we headed to McCook, NE to spend Easter with Christian, Jill and the Boys (Matthew’s oldest brother, wife, and two boys). Matthew and I went to McCook last year for Easter as well. Since we only get Friday off of school and work, it is closer to just go there. It was Daniel and Kasi's first time to NE. We got to McCook in the afternoon, and we just sat around chatting and catching up on each other lives. That night Jill made some amazing fajitas. Then we stay up way too late that night talking. We slept in the morning, and Jill once again had an amazing waffle breakfast made for us. All the guys helped Christian get his garden ready to plant that morning. Then we all headed down to a store that had baby chicks, and ducks. They were super cute, and it would have been fun to take a baby duck home. That night the guys all went to the Priesthood session of General Conference while we girls went out to eat at the Taste of Texas. After we got done there we went to a park in McCook that had duck ponds. We stayed up late again Saturday night talking. The next morning we all slept in and woke up and ate some breakfast, and watched some conference. For lunch Jill made funeral potatoes (my favorite), a ham, deviled eggs, and a yummy fruit salad. Then it was time for us to leave. We headed back to Laramie, and then Matthew and Daniel headed out to the goats to feed and milk them. Daniel has never been to Laramie, and neither to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Laramie (Cornia), so we went to dinner there. Monday morning Matthew and I had to go back to school and work. Daniel and Kasi headed back to Lovell. We had a great Easter with our Family. Thanks Christian and Jill for letting us spend Easter with you. Jill your food was amazing the whole time. We wont be able to go to McCook for a long while because of Vet school, so we are glad we got to go for Easter. Daniel &
Kasi thanks for coming with us, it was fun to have you.

Guess who is 24 today....

Happy Birthday Matthew!!!

Today is Matthew's 24th birthday. We are defiantly getting older. That last few days have been a rough one for Matthew. On Wednesday night his brother Daniel and him were working on breaking a horse for Daniel's father in-law. While riding the horse Matthew was thrown from the horse , and hurt his left wrist . He called me and we headed to the ER in Lovell ( since we are on spring break). They took X rays and said that they wanted to send him to a specialist in Billings because there could be some damage to his wrist that if he didn't get it fixed there could be some damage. But they were not sure what was really wrong with it. That night Matthew's Dad and brother gave him a priesthood blessing. So we headed to Billings yesterday morning. Thanks Jan (my mother in-law) for driving us and taking the day off for work. They took more X rays and it the X rays from Wednesday night to yesterday had changed. His wrist had gone back in place. The doctor was shocked, but we knew why. What a blessing that we have the power of the priesthood. They just put a cast on him, and he is in for three weeks then we will go back for some therapy and to have them check it out again. I am so thankful for Matthew, and is such a great husband. He is a great example to me in so many ways. I just wanted to let him know that I love him , and hope that he has a great birthday!

Life with the Asay's

We are getting so much closer to spring break and getting my wisdom teeth out. We both have midterms Thurday afternoon. Hopefully they go well, I am thinking they are both going to be hard ones. We are driving to Utah Thursday night to have Matthews uncle pull my wisdom teeth Friday morning. Then we are going to head back to Lovell/Burlington for the rest of our break.

Oh and I have been taking a Teaching with Technology class this semester, and the other day we had to make a digital story movie. I thought I would share it with you all. Its kind of cheesy, and its geared towards little kids, and you get to hear me make animals noises in it. lol so enjoy.

State Wrestling 2010

This last weekend we were able to travel to Casper to watch Jared, and Jacob Matthew's little brothers wrestle at State. We were able to spend time with them and, Stan & Jan, Christian, Jill, and the little boys. It was great that we were able to all get together for the weekend. We hadn't seen Christian and Jill and the boys since Christmas and it was a pleasure to see them. Jared and Jacob performed very well at state. Jared was able to take 3rd. We were very excited for him. The weather was great for a weekend with family. We are hoping to be able to visit Christian and Jill soon, during Easter. And we will see everyone else during Spring Break in two weeks. Yes, we are so excited for a week away from school.
