Happy Birthday Stetson

Yesterday was our little nephew Stetson's 2nd birthday and we got to join in on the celebration. We first went swimming at the rec. Stetson loves the water, Matthew and I were so surprise how fearless he is. He would go up and down the kids slide all by himself, even backwards. We then headed to Pizza Hut for a pizza party. ( Thanks Michael and Emily for the pizza it was great). Then Joel and Sarah and their kids came over for icecream and cake. Emily and Michael made a cute cake with Boots off of Dora the Explorer which Stetson loves. We really do enjoy having Michael and Emily & Stetson living close by so we can spend tons of time with them. Stetson is so much fun to be around, he's a great kid, and such a cutie.

Horay!

Horay! Finals are all done with. I finished mine Wednesday morning, and it was such a relief to be done with it. I have got to that point where I really don't care if I get an A in the class. I just want to pass the class and move on to a new semester. Matthew had a final Monday, then didn't have another one till Thursday, and he finished also this morning. We are both so happy to be done with it all. And so ready for a wonderful Christmas break.

Young Women in Excellence

Tonight was our Young Women in Excellence night. We did a Mission Possible theme, and it turned out great! Every girl was an young women value agent. (ex: Agent Faith). They were to complete a mission before they attended the event. Their mission was one of the value tasks in their personal progress books. Then they reported they results of their mission. It was great to hear that the girls had learned from their missions, and I think it made it a fun way to get some personal progress done. It was a great wonderful spirit filled night.

Once Again Its Christmas Time

I love Christmas, its my favorite holiday because we are reminded of the birth of our Savior. I love the decorations, the lights, the excitement, the music,Christmas goodies, and winter snow. Christmas is a great time for us to give to others, especially giving to charity, and the poor. I remember when I was younger my family would choose one family who we thought needed a better Christmas, and we bought them presents. It was so much fun for us. We would give the kids clothes, and it was so much fun to see them at school or church wearing them. It was a great lesson on giving that my parents taught me. Today I ran to Wal-Mart and found a little Christmas tree for our tiny apartment to make our apartment look like Christmas. Also this Friday @ the Stake Center @ 7pm, I am also singing in the performance of the Messiah. You all should come, its going to be a wonderful performance.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we headed back up to The Basin. We stayed at Matthew's parents, but visited everyone. We first had dinner at Grandma Asay's , stopped at Grandpa Monk's for pie, then headed up the Burlington to see my family. Everyone was able to come home for the holiday , so it was great to see everyone. I was able to see my cousins, Tiffany she is looking very cute and pregnant. Then Friday morning the guys were out in the corrals to preg test cows. Matthew was able to get lots of Vet hours, Wednesday we stopped at his uncle Dave's and helped him with a water belly calf. Then all weekend Matthew helped with preg testing cows with his uncle Clark who is also a vet. On Saturday I headed up to the temple with my mom bright and early. It was nice to go back, I hadn't been back since our wedding. Then we hit up Carson our little nephews 3rd bday party that night, and got to see some of our friends who are going to school in Powell. We both loved being home and eating lots of yummy food.

Updates in the Asay family

This last weekend we had Rocky Barrett here in Laramie one of Matthew's buddies, and we did all kinds of stuff. Friday night we had Matthew's scholarship banquet. The food was super good, and we had a good time. Then later that night we went to the Third Eyed Blind concert. It sure did bring back high school memories. I use to listen to them all the time in high school. We had to finish the night off with a "good ol" milkshake from Sheri's. Saturday we headed to Loveland, Colorado to do some shopping. I loved it, a girls dream with tons of outlet stores. We were able to find some really good deals also. Then we went out to the Library and got their amazing wings. And we ended the night with going to the new James Bond movie. It was a way good movie, as are all of the James Bond movies. Rocky left Sunday afternoon, we will miss him till next time, but it was great to see him again and have him stay with us for a few days.
