Life in the Asay house..

Life has turned busy again. School has started for both Matthew and I. I am taking a few classes online, and staying home with Ian. Matthew has started his 2nd year of Vet school. He is very excited about his classes, but feels like this semester is going to be challenging. I am learning how to balancing school, Ian, house work, and all the other activities I do. I think I am getting the hang of things.  Ian has been crazy since we moved back to Washington. The first week here he did not sleep well at night at all. He would wake up every two hours to eat, and I was lacking sleep. We finally decided to start giving him rice cereal. He loves it! He hasn't slept through the whole night yet, but he only gets up once now to eat. We had him weighed last week, and he weighs 14 lbs and 10 oz now, and he is 24 inches long. Ian has also started rolling from his back to his tummy. He hasn't quite got all the way to his tummy, but he is about there. When ever he gets fussy at night we give him a bath, and he goes from grumpy to happy within just a few seconds. We miss our loved ones back in Wyoming, but we are happy to be back in Pullman and back to our busy life.
He loves sitting in this Bumbo seat and watching TV

Who Does Ian Look Like????

We can't decide if Ian looks like me or Matthew. I think he is a combination of both of us. What do you think? Either way he is such a cutie pie.

Bear Lake

Thursday morning Jan, Jill, Carson, Travis, Grandma Dorothy, Ian, and I took off to Aunt Diane's lake house at Bear Lake. Diane's lake house is beautiful. We all got our own rooms, and it was super close to the lake.  We got there around 5 that evening, and jumped into our swim suites and we for rides on the jet skis. Diane and Richard made a super yummy dinner that evening. They made steak/shrimp kabobs, potatoes, and spinach salad. The next morning consisted of playing in the water, jet skiing, and getting a sun tan or in my case a sunburn. Then that evening we headed into town to shop around before Aunt Renae and Peyton showed up. Jill's sister Megan who lives in Logan also came up with her fiance, and joined in on the party. We of course stayed up late playing games, laughing and having fun. The next morning we played some more in the lake. It was Renae's birthday, so we headed in town again for her birthday dinner. We got some yummy pizza, and took group pictures. After dinner we headed back to the house to have birthday cake and ice cream. We ended the evening shooting off some fireworks, and roasted some marshmallows. I went to bed early that night instead of staying up late. The sun had drained my energy. This morning we got up early, had breakfast, and headed back home. We had a blast at the lake house. Thanks to Diane & Richard for letting up come enjoy the lake, and spend time with family. I hope that next year Matthew can come with us. Ian did so good traveling. I sat back by him the whole time which made it lots better for him. Hopefully he will do good traveling back to Pullman this weekend.

Update On Our Lives...

Summer sure is flying by so fast. We will be leaving Wyoming in just 12 days! We are going to miss our family lots, but we will be back in November for Thanksgiving. We have been pretty boring this summer, and have not done much. Matthew has enjoyed working the a vet once a week, and working for his Dad the rest of the week. Ian and I have been just hanging out together every day. I have really enjoyed being a Mom so far. Matthew and I got to go to the temple last week. Jan was so nice to watch Ian while we went through a session. It was really nice to go because we have not been for a while since being pregnant and having Ian around. Thursday Ian and I leave for Bear Lake. Jan, Grandma Dorothy, Jill and her boys are going to Jan's sister Diane's lake house for a few days. Then the following week Matthew is heading to Denver before we head back to Pullman. Our friend Rocky is getting married, and Matthew is his best man. Ian and I were going to go along, but we have to drive to Washington that same weekend. Ian doesn't love being in the car, so we are going hang out at my Mom's for a few days. Yesterday we got to see my Aunt Mandy and her girls before they take off back to Nebraska. We also got to see my cousin Brittany and her new baby Lucy. Lucy was born three weeks after Ian, so it was fun to meet her for the first time. Ian looks so much bigger than her.
Ian slept through the night for the first time Saturday night. He usually wakes up just once which is really nice. It sure was nice to get a full nights rest for once. I woke up around 6 feeling amazing, and had to check on him to make sure he was still breathing. Last weekend we took him to the county fair. He loved looking at all the animals.

Melt Your Heart...

Ian changes every day. It is so crazy to me how fast the last few months have gone by. Ian has started talking lots to us, and smiling even more. He does better at tummy time, and doesn't cry the whole time. He also loves to lay on his back and watch the ceiling fan. Friday night Jan and I took Ian, Kandace, and Stetson to "Cars 2". Ian sat wide eyed watching the movie for the first twenty minutes, and then he slept through the rest of it. It was so fun to see him sit that still for that long watching a movie. He loves when we read his touch and feel animal books to him. He also likes doing patty cake, five little monkeys, and itsy bitsy spider. I just love his dimples when he smiles. The best is when I am talking to someone and look at him, and he will be smiling at me. He makes me smile every time. Ian sucks on his fists all the time, and drools all over. I can't keep a dry shirt on this little guy. I kind of think he is going to be a thumb sucker once he discovers it. Ian is also a super pooper. We go through so many diapers, but at least we know he is healthy.  This little boy is our world now.  We sure are proud parents of our sweet little boy.
