Ear Tubes

I am way behind, but Ian had Ear tubes put in on the 3rd of March. We took him to a ENT in Powell that comes down from Billings once a month a few weeks prior. We decided then that he needed tubes, so we scheduled surgery the very next day. It worked out great because Matthew had the 3rd off of week, so he was able to be there with me. Ian had to start fasting from midnight until after surgery. I was a little nervous for this because Ian loves his sippy cup right when he gets up in the morning. We had to leave the house at 5:30 am so we didn't get Ian out of bed until the very last minute. He did great, and never fell back asleep on the way there like we thought he would. We dropped Chloe off at Emily's first thing and then headed to Yellowstone Surgery Center. He had to check in at 8 and the surgery was a 9 am. The got us all checked in and it wasn't long until they took us back to the pre-op room. Ian was the luckiest boy that day when Mickey Mouse was on while we waited. They weighed him and decided he could just stay in his sweats and t-shirt for surgery. They didn't want the hospital gown to bug him. When the nurse finally came to get him for surgery he didn't want to ride in the cool wagon down to surgery. He grabbed the nurses hand and walked to surgery like a big boy. The doctor came out about 15 minutes later and said it went great. He said they couldn't get him to lay down on the bed when they put the mask on him, so they let him stand. Once he fell asleep someone caught him and laid him in bed. There was a little bit of fluid in his ears that day so they sucked it out and put the tubes in. I hated seeing him come out of anesthesia though. It was so sad. We picked Chloe up and headed straight to McDonald's for some lunch. Ian ate his hamburger so fast. We are so happy to finally have tubes in his ears.
