Our Life Update

Not a whole lot has been going on with us lately. We have been going to school and working. Which is keeping us both super busy. We are always so relieved when we walk in to the house after a long day. Matthew has almost got his vet applications all sent in and paid for. He is hoping to have them all in by the end of this week. If you could all pray for us to get into vet school that would be the best! I also had a crazy thing happen to me this last weekend. We went to the football game UW vs Weber State. I had a cold so I had Matthew pick me up some Mucinex on his way home from milking goats that morning. I took it just an hour or so before the game, but I didn't eat anything with it or drink a lot of water that day. We headed to the game and about the end of the first quarter I told Matthew that I felt like I was going to pass out. I did, thank goodness Matthew was there to catch me. He took me home and I was pooped. I slept for a few hours and drank tons of liquids. I felt fine after I woke up. I think the mixture of the medicine, heat, standing, and not a lot of water got to me. Matthew was such a great husband to take me home and take care of me. It was a pretty scary thing for me. I have never passed out like that before. I have been really working on drinking lots of water lately. For labor day some friends Jared and Chelsea Larsen invited us over for burritos and to play games. It was fun to get together with them and James and Jessie. The burritos were super good too. The weather down here is still pretty warm. But I am sure soon we will be getting a cold front coming in. We have also started having family scripture reading. It has been great. We read about a chapter a night. I can really tell a difference in our home. Isn't it great how you can really feel the spirit while reading your scriptures.

First Week Down....

This week was Matthew and I's first week of the fall semester. Let me tell you how excited I am that it's Friday. I was seriously ready for Friday to be here after Monday. It is hard to get back in the routine of going to school and waking up early to go to school or work. This semester I am taking 18 credits and Matthew is taking 21 plus we are both working, so we are both super busy. I love the weekend because Matthew and I get to spend lots of time together, and I love it when its just the two of us. Matthew is still milking goats so we make that a date a few times a week also. Its fun when we can go together and milk the goats. Monday night we had a big BBQ. We decided that we needed a party to kick off the first day of classes. We fit 15 people in our little apartment. It was quite a party. We just BBQ burgers, had watermelon, fresh salsa and chips. It was fun to get together with our friends. I think that next week will be a better week. I think I am finally getting in to school mode. Maybe lol...

Our Last Party Before School Starts

Last Wednesday we we took off for the Basin for a week. School starts the 24th of August so we needed one last trip before we get super busy. We go our fishinglicense so we were able to go fishing a few times. Matthew helped his dad out on the farm a lot. We also celebrated our one year anniversary. We had a few bites of our wedding cake. Not bad for a year old cake. We went to the temple on Saturday, and we saw my Grandpa Bullinger there working at the temple. My Grandma wasn't there because she is in Nebraska with my Aunt Mandy . Mandy and Cal had their 2nd baby girl on Monday, and we are so excited for them I am sure she is beautiful. I also was able to get in to the girl that always cut and colored my hair in high school to get a cut and color. So I am Blondie again. We also hung out with our friends Richard and Katie Walker. We always love spending time with them. Hope to see them soon. It was kind of a bummer to leave yesterday. It was so nice to sleep in, spend time with family, and have no worries for a week. Matthew had to get back to work. He started bus training today. I am not really looking forward to school starting on Monday. But I guess the sooner it starts the sooner it gets over with.

A year already!!!

Today is our one year anniversary. Its crazy to think that its been a year already. Its been a great year. We went to the temple yesterday , went out to dinner , and went to a movie with some friends of ours. It really has been the best year of our life. I couldn't ask for anything else. I have the best husband ever. He is a huge sweetheart, and everything I ever wanted. I cant wait to spend the rest of forever with him.

We're so glad when family come, glad as we can be.....

Saturday we had family come and visit us. Our sister in law Jill had been up in the Basin for a few weeks, so her Mom brought her to Laramie to meet Christian. Christian got here around noon , and so we took him out to our favorite wing place the Library. Sadly it wasn't as good as be brag it up to be. I don't know what the deal is. Every time we try to take someone out to our favorite place it's never as good as it usually is. Jill, Carson, Travis and Jill's Mom arrived around 5ish. The boys all went out to milk Matthew's goats. Carson really liked the baby goats that were born at the beginning of the summer. Travis is walking already. Just a month ago when we were in McCook visiting them he wasn't quite walking yet. He is getting so big. He will be a year old in September. Saturday night we all headed to Corona a Mexican restaurant here in town . Which is one of our favorites too. Matthew and I have finally found our favorite dishes there . We got back to the house , and Carson wanted us to set up our dog kennel for him to play puppy in. It was so cute both him and Travis loved playing in it. Good thing because I don't think we will be getting our dog. We have had so much trouble with the adoption company, so we are just going to give it a try in a year or so. At least Matthew will be able to us the kennel when he is a Vet. Sunday morning the guys went and milked goats again. Then we had breakfast and they were headed home. We love having our extra bedroom because we are able to have family and friends stay with us all the time. We call it the Asay NOOK. Tonight we are having Sonnie Jardine and her three kids over for dinner. Ryan started his job in Denver and is gone all week, so it will be great to have her over. Wednesday we are headed up to the Basin for a week before Matthew has to be back for bus training.

This Weeks Adventures........

Monday night Matthew brought home and whole huge bag garbage bag full of rhubarb from a lady at work. I made rhubarb pie on Sunday so he took a piece to work. He ended up giving it to a lady he works with , so in return she brought him a bag of rhubarb. That night we froze 6 quarts of rhubarb. Talk about working on our food storage. We are set on rhubarb for a while. I have a recipe for muffins and rhubarb loafs which are yummy, so we will be eating some of that for sure. Wednesday was my last day of work for the summer, but then I start up again on the 24th. After work I headed up to girls camp. Which was just about 30 to 40 minutes from Laramie. I spent two days up there. Sonnie Jardine was my tent buddy. Thanks Sonnie! We had lots of fun. Wednesday night they put on the Book of Mormon program that we did with our ward. It was so good the first time, but this time it was amazing. It was a great spiritual lift. Us presidency leaders threw the Tomahawks, and by the end we weren't bad at it. It was kind of weird to be there as a leader because not too long ago I was going to girls camp as one of the girls. It rained on us the 2nd day I was there, so it was freezing last night. I haven't been real camping forever either. When I went to girls camp we stayed in cabins and we had showers. The girls were super fun . At testimony meeting we had one of our first years get up and bare her testimony. She just joined the church last year, and had never shared her testimony, so it was great to hear her bare it. Although I was only there for two nights I was still missing my own bed, shower, and my Husband. It is great to be home.

Summer is coming to a end....

I can't believe that is is August already. Our summer is pretty much over. We have only a few weeks till we start the fall semester of classes. We are both going to be super busy. We will both be working and taking a big load of credits. You know what I think it will all pay off in the end. We are also pretty sure we are going to get a greyhound. Yesterday we were able to spend the day with her. She is black, has some white on her, two years old, and a super amazing dog. We took her on a long walk down the Spring Creek park, and she was great. She is such a chill dog, which is what we want for the size of our apartment. Most the day she just laid around and played with us. The adoption place still has to get her spade and get her all check out before we can adopt her. We have a name pick out for her already. We are thinking Farrah. Yesterday we also had a BBQ . It was just a little one with Trey and us, but it was very tasty. We grilled up some pre-marinated pork loins, had potato salad, and Trey made a super good cucumber salad which is my favorite now. It was a great Saturday. This week Matthew will be done with his online classes on the 8th. I think he is super excited to be done with them, and he is doing great in them. I am also taking off Wednesday night after work to go to Girls Camp for a few days. So Wednesday is my last day of work till August 24th when school starts up again. It will be nice to have a break and be able to relax for a while before its time to tackle school again.
